Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth announced the end of their marriage on Friday, March 24, 2023.  According to sources, Witherspoon filed the paperwork in the Circuit Court of Davidson County near their home in Nashville.  The Oscar winner and super-agent have one son together, Tennessee James, age 10.  Additionally, according to the paperwork, the couple have a prenuptial agreement.  In preparation for the end of their marriage, the couple have been splitting their assets for some time.  They have sold properties and their production company, Hello Sunshine.  Now, the couple are focused on working out a custody arrangement for their son.

You may have heard of the popular swing dances that occur almost nightly somewhere in North Carolina. From beginner lessons to complex dances, there are many offerings to help you learn something new or perfect your swing dance steps.

What you may not know is that swing dance originated in Harlem in the 1920s. This February, in honor of Black History Month, we remember the great men and women that created this original and exciting form of dance. The Savoy Ballroom in Harlem featured some of the best jazz musicians of all time, and their music inspired the moves that became Swing Dance and encompassed the Lindy Hop, the East Coast Swing, and more. Ne-Yo and Crystal Renay are officially divorced.  The couple married in 2016.  Renay initially filed for divorce from the singer-songwriter in August after accusing him of cheating.  The divorce was finalized on January 26, 2023.   

 

Renay filed for divorce in Fulton County, Georgia.  In the filing, Renay asked for primary physical custody of the parties’ children.  Ne-Yo and Renay share three children: Isabella, Shaffer Chimere Jr., and Roman Alexander-Raj.  According to court documents obtain by Billboard, the Fulton County judge presiding over the matter ordered Ne-Yo to pay Renay $12,000 per month in child support.

A California woman is experiencing divorce in a way that has her fearing for her life.  Patricia and Ronald Dunn are residents of Los Angeles and are in the process of getting divorced.  However, Ronald is less than happy with the idea of divorcing Patricia.  To say this is a contentious divorce is an understatement.  At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, Ronald first arrived at the couple’s home in the Westmont neighborhood of South Los Angeles in his Chevy Impala.  He crashed the car into the home while Patricia was still inside.  Ronald then left and later returned with a dump truck, crashing that into the home as well.  Ronald then backed up the dump truck and rammed multiple vehicles parked along the street.

Matthew Taylor Coleman and his wife, Abby Coleman, were living a picturesque life in their Santa Barbara, California home with their two young children—Kaleo, a two-year-old boy, and Roxy, a ten-month-old girl— when events took a turn for the worse.  While the family was packing for a camping trip, Matthew allegedly placed the children in the family van and drove away without a word to Abby.  She was unable to reach him by phone but eventually tracked his location with the help of authorities and the Find My iPhone application.  After being stopped by law enforcement at the U.S.-Mexico border and taken into custody, Matthew told investigators he killed his children with a spearfishing gun after being “enlightened by QAnon and Illuminati conspiracy theories.”  Believing that Abby possessed serpent DNA that had been passed down to his children, Matthew claimed the death of his children was “saving the world from monsters.”  Matthew has been charged with the foreign murder of U.S. nationals.  Continue reading →

On Thursday, July 12, Greensboro’s John Isner battled on the green grass of Wimbledon for 6 ½ hours. It was the longest semi-final in the tournament’s storied history. Wimbledon is considered tennis’ most prestigious event, featuring 128 of the worlds best players. Isner blasted his way into the semifinals beating several top players along the way including Greece’s very best up and comer, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Canada’s top player, Milos Raonic. My spouse has done something that is terribly embarrassing to me.  It also might be criminal.  Everyone in the community knows; our friends know, and I am mortified and humiliated.  I want a divorce.  Do I have grounds for getting a divorce?

Toni Maurie Gwynn was a 17-month angel who died July 10, 2013 in Eden, North Carolina. She was found suffocated and strapped to a car seat. Apparently, she had not had food or water for many hours.

The latest “who dun it” was resolved last week with her father Antonio Gwynn pleading guilty to second-degree murder. Continue reading →

Derek Williams is a Forsyth County doctor who had an affair apparently, or at least allegedly, with his nurse. Playing doctor-nurse games got them in trouble with the nurse’s husband, Marc Malecek.
